Five boys, including two juveniles, were arrested on Sunday evening on charges of raping a minor girl in Gumla early morning.
The victim, a class X student, went to her friend's house early on Sunday morning after attending a wedding ceremony the previous night. “Five boys forcibly took her to a remote place and raped her. The survivor reached the local police station and narrated her ordeal while revealing the names of the accused at 6 pm on Sunday,” Gumla SDPO Manish Chandra Lal said on Monday.
Among those arrested are Naveen Oraon (19), Bindeshwar Oraon (19), Laxmi Oraon (21) besides two 15-year-old youths,” said police officer Amit Kumar Choudhary, who conducted the raid to nab the accused within two hours of the crime complaint filed by the victim.
The accused have been booked under Sections 376DA and 34 of the IPC and Sections 3 and 4 of the POCSO Act, he said.
